SPHS Teens Killed in Weekend Accident (Updated)

The accident, which happened Saturday night, involved a Georgia State Patrol car.

Two Paulding County teens were fatally injured in a Saturday night crash in Carroll County involving a Georgia State Patrol car.

The Georgia State Patrol said Kylie Lindsey, 17, and Isabella Chinchilla, 16, were both killed in the accident, which happened Saturday night around 11:35 p.m. on southbound Ga. Hwy. 1 near Holly Springs Drive.

The teens were students at South Paulding High School, according to news reports.

Three others, including a state trooper, were injured and taken to the hospital.

The state patrol said the preliminary findings indicated a 2005 Nissan, occupied by four teenagers, was attempting to turn left onto Holly Springs Drive in front of the patrol car and was struck on the right side. Both vehicles left the roadway.

Trooper Anthony J. Scott, 26, was taken to Tanner-Carrollton, the state patrol said. His injuries were not released.

Also injured were driver Dillon L. Wall, 18, of Douglasville, and passenger Benjamin A. Finken, 17, also of Douglasville. They were taken to Grady Hospital in Atlanta. Their injuries were not known.

This crash is still under investigation by the GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team.
