Student Tests Positive For Coronavirus At Paulding School
Parents found out in an emailed letter that a student at a Dallas elementary school had tested positive Monday for COVID-19.
DALLAS, GA — As Paulding County attracts national attention for viral photos of students crowded next to each other, a student at a Dallas elementary school has tested positive for COVID-19.
Administrators at Shelton Elementary School were notified of the positive results on Monday, the first day of school, according to The Georgia Sun.
In a letter emailed to parents, Principal Paul Chaffee said that the areas affected were thoroughly cleaned and disinfected as soon school officials learned of the case. Also, students believed to be in close contact with the child were notified.

“If you were not contacted by an administrator, your child was not identified as a close contact,” Chaffee wrote.
The letter went on to tell parents how they could monitor their children’s health for possible signs of COVID-19, asking them to notify the school front office as soon as possible if they see anything.
