“We would like to hear the viewpoints and concerns of all area residents," says DeWayne Comer, district engineer at the Georgia DOT office in Cartersville.
The proposed plans call for improving the operation and capacity of the intersection on SR 61/Cartersville Highway at Dabbs Bridge Road by eliminating the existing skew intersection and realigning Dabbs Bridge Road on new location to create a new intersection. The new intersection will be constructed as a roundabout, which will be centered approximately 3300 feet north of the existing intersection along SR 61 and will have three connecting legs including SR 61 and Dabbs Bridge Road. The public information open house will provide the public with an opportunity to view the proposed detour for construction, ask questions, and comment on it.
“The Georgia DOT strongly believes that since this project is intended to serve the people of Paulding County, the ideas and preferences of these people are important,” Comer explains. “This meeting will provide the public with an opportunity to review both the proposed project, ask questions, and express their preferences.”
