First Look: Calle Latina

The Latin street food restaurant opened in the old BadaBing Catering space on Church Street in downtown Decatur.

There's a new restaurant in downtown Decatur.

Calle Latina, a Latin street food place, opened last week in the old BadaBing Catering space at 406 Church St.

Manager Jacob Olson said the spot was too small for the catering operation, so owner Michael Condon moved it to a larger kitchen near the Majestic Diner on Ponce de Leon Avenue.

The menu features two soups with several kinds of empanadas, tacos and arepas. (See photo of menu.)

Olson said the operating days and hours are still being figured out, but the restaurant is usually open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays.
