North Decatur Gas Station Could be Redeveloped
Developers seek to transform the corner lot into a 6,000 sq. ft. retail space.

Swift Stop, Inc. is looking to redevelop a corner gas station in North Decatur into a retail space, a neighborhood association group learned recently.
Plans to turn the Chevron Station at the corner of Medlock and North Decatur roads and Scott Boulevard into a 6,000 sq. ft. retail space will go before the DeKalb County Board of Zoning Appeals on Wednesday, the Medlock Area Neighborhood Association reports.
The developers have worked with the community associations in the immediate area to create a proposal that both sides can accept; neighbors want to see changes to the plan which include “sidewalks, improved landscaping, minimizing curb cuts, minimal signage, maintaining a buffer with the adjoining condominiums and adding a comfortable bus stop.”
