4th Annual Spay, Neuter Party To Be Held By Douglas County
All proceeds from the event will go towards spaying and neutering pets in the Douglas County area.
DOUGLASVILLE, GA -- Douglas County’s 4th Annual Spay and Neuter Fundraiser Party, hosted by Douglas County Animal Services, Douglas County Humane Society and Commissioner Emeritus Mike and Peggy Mulcare, is set to occur on April 13, from 6 to 10 p.m. in the gymnasium of Deer Lick Park, located at 2105 Mack Road.
“It’s bound to be a great night of food and entertainment for a great cause,” said Animal Services Director Frances McMillan. “All the proceeds from the event will go towards spaying and neutering pets in the Douglas County area.”
There are several benefits of spaying and neutering such as both operations improve long-term health, prevent unwanted litters, and eliminate many behaviors problems associated with the mating instinct.

“Unintended, unwanted and eventually abandoned animals are a real public health and safety problem. Not to mention that it is an animal welfare issue that only ethical and compassionate humans can address,” Mike Mulcare explained. “This event helps fund the spaying and neutering of almost 400 future pets adopted from the shelter – dog and cats that will not be able to contribute to the problem in the future. These funds also assist in spaying and neutering feral cat colonies rather than euthanizing them.”
To purchase tickets for the fundraiser party, contact Connie McKennon at (404) 625-0821 or email DCSpayNeuterFundraiser@gmail.com. The cost to join the party is $40 per person. Checks can be made payable to DC Humane Society S&N Fund and mailed to P.O. Box 747, Douglasville, GA 30133.
