Alexander High School FBLA Competes at Region

Students working hard for success!

Alexander High School’s FBLA Chapter and its members participated in FBLA’s Fall Leadership Conference at Villa Rica High School. Prior to the conference, students dedicated countless hours preparing for a variety of skills tests, online tests, as well as performance competitions. All of the competitions were designed to test students’ skill sets, knowledge, as well as their ability to comprehend and adapt to career-related situations.

During the conference, students from Alexander competed in the career readiness events ranging from Public Speaking to Client Services. Of the many students competing in each event, Alexander came away with fifteen region placers, and seven state qualifiers who will be given the chance to compete once again against the top competitors in the state in March. Gwen Douglas, second year competitor said, β€œI’m looking forward to state competition. I think it’s a great opportunity to network, and improve upon my skills so that I am more prepared for the workforce.”

Alexander is in the Northwest Region 7 which is comprised of ten counties: Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, Haralson, Harris, Heard, Meriweather, Paulding, Talbot, and Troup. Of all of the schools represented, Alexander’s FBLA chapter is ranked second in regards to membership numbers. Janae Childs stated, β€œIt’s awesome that we have so many members. Next year, we are going to try to improve our membership numbers.”
