Art Project Inspires North Douglas Elementary Students
The bathroom stall art was created using chalk and paint over two weeks.
North Douglas Elementary School welcomed artist Sharanda Wilburn as part of the “Be the Change” project. The artist created 48 original pieces of inspirational art on each of the school’s bathroom doors, the Douglas County School System (DCSS) said in a news release.
The bold, colorful quotes and words remind students they are valuable and worthwhile, DCSS said.
“I am delighted to see these affirmations on our bathroom stalls. These quotes will encourage our scholars. It will remind them that they are worthy and to believe in themselves even if they don't feel others do. Self-empowerment is the absolute best for our scholars of the future," North Douglas Elementary Principal Karna Kelly said.
