Come For The Vaccine, Stay For The Food At Douglasville Lounge

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Now that pandemic restrictions are largely lifted, a downtown Douglasville bar and grill is offering meals and drinks — plus a COVID shot on the side one or two days a week, no appointment necessary.

Tito’s Lounge on Veteran’s Memorial Highway — described on its Facebook page as a “full service lounge and restaurant for the grown & sexy” — is partnering with nearby Premier Drugstore to double as a walk-in vaccination clinic up to two two days a week. The clinic is typically open from mid-morning to late afternoon, depending on how much vaccine is available.

According to Premier’s Facebook page, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be available at Tito’s from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. First and second doses of the Moderna vaccine will be available for walk-up clients Tuesday at the drug store itself.

This marks nearly a month that Tito’s has served as both a bar and a vaccine clinic, and the response has been positive. Owner Tito Arrington serves food and and drinks to those waiting for shots, and he told Atlanta news station WSB-TV that he hopes it will draw customers back after they’re vaccinated.

“We come out these four walls and take it to the streets,” said Douglasville councilman Sam Davis, who came up with the idea of pairing the two businesses to promote COVID vaccinations.

Vaccinations are also being offered at Arbor Place Mall at a drive-thru site outside the old Sears location.
