Court Rules in Favor of Pastor Fired Four Times
A Douglas County pastor who was banned from his own church earlier this year returned Sunday after a judge ruled he was wrongfully fired.

After a six-month battle, a Douglas County pastor returned to the pulpit Sunday after a judge ruled he was wrongfully fired from his own church in June.
52-year-old pastor Darryl Momon of Old Mountain Top Baptist Church in Winston served as the church’s senior pastor for nine years, CBS 46 reports.
In August, Momon was arrested for trespassing after the church’s deacon board fired the pastor for insubordination and issued a restraining order prohibiting Momon from setting foot on the property.

Momon challenged the deacon’s decision, claiming church bylaws give the majority of a congregation the right to choose their spiritual leader.
Though the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office ordered Momon to stay off church property, the pastor continued to lead bible studies on Wednesday nights by preaching from the street using a cordless microphone.

A superior court judge ruled last week that Momon was wrongfully terminated.
