This work is in preparation for construction of a roundabout in this area. This roundabout project was designed to improve traffic flow and reduce crashes at the intersection. Currently, the three-legged intersection has stop or yield traffic control, and significant percentage of crashes in the area have been related to angle collisions. National studies have shown that the installation of a roundabout results in nearly 80% reduction in fatal and serious injury crashes.
