The community is invited to join the Douglas County School System to honor loved ones lost to COVID-19 during a Memorial Pinwheel Ceremony Wednesday, June 2, at 4:00 p.m.   During the ceremony, employees and community members will place a pinwheel in the new Central Office’s front lawn.  Each of the pinwheels symbolizes a loved one who passed away due to COVID-19. The names were submitted by Douglas County School System employees and community members. The bright yellow pinwheels serve as a visual reminder that the person is loved and missed every day by the community.  The Memorial Pinwheel Ceremony and Garden will be held at the Douglas County School System’s new Central Office at 11490 Veterans Memorial Highway Douglasville, GA 30134 on Wednesday, June 2 at 4pm .  Guests will gather outside around the main DCSS sign at the corner of Veterans Memorial Highway and North Burnt Hickory Road. Parking is available in the visitor parking lot on Veterans Memorial or in the parking deck on North Burnt Hickory.
