Douglas County Sheriff Injures Pinky Finger In Gun Accident
A spokesman for the Douglas County Sheriff's Office wouldn't say if Sheriff Tim Pounds was shot in the finger by his own gun.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Douglas County Sheriff Tim Pounds injured his left pinky finger in a gun accident last weekend.
A spokesman for the Sheriff's Department didn't have many details of the incident.
"I'm giving you exactly what he wanted released," Jessie Hambrick, public information officer with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, told Patch.

The accident happened at Pound's home and he sought medical treatment. He has since returned to work, Hambrick said. He wouldn't elaborate on whether Pounds was shot in the finger by his own gun.
Prior to his role as sheriff, Pounds worked in law enforcement for 38 years, according to his re-election website. He started as a patrol officer with the Douglasville Police Department, and his career progressed under his three predecessors, starting with Earl Lee during the 1970s.

He also worked under Sheriff Tommy Waldrop and Sheriff Phil Miller before retiring and running for Sheriff.
