Douglas Jail to Offer Visitation Via Web
There will be no jail visitation on July 15, 29 and 30 while the facility undergoes system upgrades.

The days of visiting inmates at the Douglas County Jail may soon become a thing of past.
A new, web-based video visitation system will allow guests of inmates to visit without stepping foot in the facility, according to the Douglas County Sentinel. For a fee, they can chat over the Internet through a video screen.Â
Douglas will test out the system with the public defenders office and private attorneys before introducing it to the public, according to report from the Sentinel.
There will be no jail visitation on Monday, July 29 and July 30 while the facility undergoes system upgrades.
