Douglas Parks Are Mostly Open For Weekend — But Check First
You're welcome to visit most parks in Douglas County over the Memorial Day weekend. Just be sure to keep your distance from others.
DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — Planning your Memorial Day weekend? Parades and similar events have been cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic, but parks are largely open — as long as patrons practice social distancing.
Georgia's state parks are open, but crowds have been limited at the busiest parks. For the latest information on state parks, visit the Georgia Department of Natural Resource's website, or visit the Facebook page of a particular park.
Douglas County Parks reopened on a limited basis on May 1 and are open every day until dark. Walking trails, tracks and disc-golf courses are open at Clinton Park, Deer Lick Park, Boundary Waters Park, Dog River Reservoir, Woodrow Wilson Park and Fairplay Park. Restrooms, playgrounds and pavilions remain closed to the public, and patrons are expected to practice social distancing. For full information on Douglas County's parks, visit the county's website.

The City of Douglasville’s Hunter Park started its phased reopening on May 18 and will be open over the Memorial Day weekend until 11 p.m each day. Only the tennis courts, disc golf, the Honor Garden/Airplane Memorial, and the walking track around the pond are open.
