Douglasville Motorcyclist Dies In Polk County Accident: Police

A 53-year-old Douglasville man died Saturday when his motorcycle hit a pickup truck on Highway 101 in Aragon, according to authorities.

GEORGIA — A Douglasville man died Saturday after his black custom motorcycle hit a pickup truck on Highway 101 near Burton’s Kwik Stop in Aragon.

James Harold Hulsey, 53, died on his way to Floyd Medical Center in Rome following the accident late Saturday night, Polk Today reported. Polk County Coroner Norman Smith confirmed Hulsey's identity to Patch Tuesday.

According to official reports, Hulsey’s black Yamaha custom motorcycle was moving north on Highway 101 when a pickup truck traveling west on Live Oak Road failed to yield. As the pickup crossed the highway at the point where Live Oak turns into Collard Valley Road, the left side of the truck made contact with the front of the motorcycle.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the wreck, according to Polk Today. Hulsey’s body is being transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for a further autopsy.
