DOUGLASVILLE, GA -- Douglasville was selected to host the 2020 Regional Visitor Information Center (RVIC) Conference from April 22 – 24 next year.

Douglasville’s bid was selected at this year’s RVIC Conference in Jekyll Island. The conference will take place primarily at the Douglasville Conference Center and includes workshops that educate participants in effective strategies to improve their Welcome Center operations. The conference also includes familiarization tours that take attendees to different attractions around Douglasville and Douglas County.

“We are thrilled to have been named the host community for next year’s conference,” Samantha Rosado, Douglasville tourism program manager, said. “This conference is so much more than an informational meeting; it is a valuable development tool for tourism professionals and a way we can showcase all that Douglasville has to offer.”

The announcement of the conference location coincides with the release of the Douglasville Convention and Visitors Bureau’s short video promoting the many businesses and attractions that can be found throughout Douglasville and Douglas County.

“The video was used in our application to host the conference and has garnered a lot of attention on social media,” Rosado said, “our hope is that we can use this to further promote our great community and use it to build toward the grand re-opening of the Welcome Center.”
