The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) announced that Douglasville Planning Manager April McKown has been selected to participate in the 2021 Arts Leaders of Metro Atlanta (ALMA) program. This year’s ALMA Workshop brings together 33 artists, creatives, designers, urban planners, and city and county officials to examine the role of arts and culture in community development and develop cross-sector responses to community opportunities.

ARC also launched a regional artist survey to engage metro Atlanta artists, creatives, and culture bearers with experience or interest in civic, social, and community practice. Metro Atlanta artists working in all media are invited to visit publicinput.com/artists to take the 20-question survey by May 12.

“We are thrilled to welcome this year’s incoming ALMA class, which will examine the essential role that arts and arts organizations can play in planning and development,” said Josh Phillipson, Principal of Arts, Culture, and Creative Placemaking at ARC.
