Douglasville's Meyers Taylor Medals At Olympic Games

Douglasville's own Elana Meyers Taylor and her bobsled partner, Lauren Gibbs, have earned a medal in the 2018 Winter Olympics.

DAEGWALLYEONG, South Korea — Douglasville's own Elana Meyers Taylor and her bobsled partner, Lauren Gibbs, earned a silver medal in the 2018 Winter Olympics, denied the gold by a German bobsled team made up of Mariama Jamanka and Lisa Buckwitz. Only 0.07 seconds separated gold from silver medals, the closest between first and second in any Olympic women's bobsled race.

It was the third consecutive medal for both Meyers Taylor and Humphries. Meyers Taylor won bronze in 2010 and silver in 2014; Humphries won gold in each of those Olympic races. Both arrived in South Korea fully expecting gold.
