Election 2015: Persons, Robinson Meet Again in Runoff
In 2011, Mayor Persons was second to Robinson in the general election, but won the runoff.

The runoff for mayor in Douglasville between incumbent Harvey Persons and Rochelle Robinson will be held Tuesday, Dec. 1, according to the county.
The two finished first and second in the three-candidate race in Tuesday’s general election; none of the candidates scored more than 50 percent of the vote.

Robinson garnered 1,293 votes (46.8%), Persons had 758 and Terry Miller 712, according to unofficial results.
The three candidates finished in the same order in the 2011 election, which also was decided by a runoff between Persons and Robinson.

Despite finishing second in that general election, Persons went on to beat Robinson in the runoff.
Advanced voting is expected to be scheduled Thanksgiving week.
The city-wide voter turnout Tuesday was 13.53 percent, reported newly elected councilman Richard Segal on Facebook.
