DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Coronavirus cases continue to drop across the country while the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, which means there is even more reason to celebrate this Independence Day. July 4 is almost here, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you.

In Douglasville, the annual July 4 fireworks show is back, sponsored by GreyStone Power Corp. Originating from West Pines Golf Course at dusk, the show should be visible throughout Douglasville. (The course itself will be closed to the public that evening.)

Also on July 4, the City of Douglasville will hold an online "Shoebox Parade" on the city's Facebook page in lieu of a regular parade. More than 50 shoebox-sized floats were submitted. The parade will be live-streamed at 1:30 p.m.

The City of Villa Rica will stage its 15th Annual Fireworks Display Extravaganza, starting at 5 p.m. with three bands, including headliners Monsters of Yacht.
