Flash Flood Warning In Douglasville Wednesday

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Douglasville is under a flash flood warning Wednesday until 3:30 p.m. Included in the flash flood warning are Southern Cobb County, Northeastern Douglas County and Southwestern Fulton County.

According to the National Weather Service, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain falling across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. An additional one to two inches is possible in the next hour or two. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Atlanta, Douglasville, Smyrna, Powder Springs, Austell, Lithia Springs, Sweetwater Creek State Park, Jim R Miller Park, Chapel Hill, Six Flags Over Georgia, Campbellton, Bolton, Mableton and Vinings. This warning also includes portions of the Chattahoochee River and associated tributaries.

The National Weather Service advises: Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
