Flash Flood Watch for Region Wednesday

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch until 1 a.m. Thursday morning for portions of north and all of central Georgia.

Flooding of streams, creeks and rivers are possible with the expected rainfall.

Temporary street flooding could occur due to poor drainage and clogged storm drains where any heavy rain occurs.

The forecast calls for showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 2pm, then a chance of showers.

Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. The weather service encourages residents to monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
