Free Interactive Robotic Art Performance To Be Held At CAC

Artist Jeff Mather will share behind the scene stories about robotics and art in this 45-minute interactive performance.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA -- The Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County is gearing up for another exciting Family ARTSventures public performance! Join us on Saturday, March 30 at 10:30 am for their Family ARTSventures program: Artbotics presented by Jeff Mather at the Douglas County Library. This FREE performance will enthrall all ages.

How is robotics being used for art making in innovative schools, you may ask? STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) artist Jeff Mather will share behind the scene stories with images from several recent art projects that have included robotics in this 45-minute interactive performance that will answer that question and much more. “Family ARTSventures!” is a program designed to introduce performing artists into the schools with curricula-based programs, followed by an appearance at a public event for children and adults alike to enjoy. Jeff is a community-based public artist and multi-disciplinary teaching artist. He is the STEAM Artist-in Residence at Drew Charter School. He has created digital storytelling programs for the Woodruff Arts Center and Drew Charter School just to name a few. He has directed experimental theater productions at the Center for Puppetry Arts and has served as an artist in residence at over 150 schools. In March Jeff also performed “Artbotics” to STEM certified Lithia Springs High School. Lithia Springs

High School STEM Academy is known for preparing students through rigorous and relevant interdisciplinary problem-based content, to be productive and successful citizens of the 21st century by developing critical knowledge in the STEM fields.
