Free Show On 'Growing Up' To Be Given At Dog River Library
Join the fun at this upcoming "Growing Up" show, presented by John Doyle at Dog River Library.
DOUGLASVILLE, GA – The Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County is gearing up for another Family ARTSVentures public performance. Join the fun on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 10:30 a.m. for "Growing Up" presented by John Doyle at Dog River Library.
This free performance will enthrall all ages. This is a 50-minute performance as John explores the journey of characters as they navigate through their community, peer pressure, gangs, school, and relationships. Ultimately, this performance reveals the inner journey of growing up as a teenager in Georgia.
Family ARTSventures is a program designed to introduce performing artists into the schools with curricula-based programs, followed by an appearance at a public event for children and adults alike to enjoy.

Doyle is a professional storyteller, actor, and teaching artist. He has worked with such organizations as: Alliance Theatre, Georgia Ensemble Theatre, Upward Bound, Boys and Girls Club, Fox Theater, and more. He has held residencies in over 30 school districts in Georgia. He currently has nine educational performance shows that tour the state. Doyle also conducts
workshops on how to incorporate storytelling and digital storytelling in the classroom. In addition to his public show, Doyle will perform two school shows for different grade levels at Turner Middle School during the month of March.

Funding to make “Family ARTSventures” possible comes from the GreyStone Power Foundation, Georgia Council for the Arts, Douglas County Economic Development Authority, and the Douglas County School System. John Doyle will be followed by Jeff Mather on March 30 at Douglas County Library at 10:30 a.m.
