Free Turkeys, COVID-19 Tests To Be Offered At Drive-Thru Event

A county commissioner will work with two non-profits to give away turkeys Saturday in the parking lot of the Douglas County Courthouse.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — A county commissioner and two non-profits will work together to give away turkeys at a drive-thru event Saturday morning at the Douglas County Courthouse.

The event — which starts at 10 a.m. and will also offer free COVID-19 testing — is being organized by District 3 Commissioner Tarenia Carthan, along with Splendors of Africa and Families Ties Inc.

For COVID-19 testing, visit https://covid19.dph.ga.gov/en-US/ and complete the questionnaire to register. You do not have to choose a location. If you do not have an email address, use firstname.lastname@noemail.com.

Free flu shots will also be available for uninsured adults, with no registration required.

This event is drive-thru only. Residents are asked to stay in their vehicles for the turkey giveaway and testing. The Douglas County Courthouse is located at 8700 Hospital Drive in Douglasville.
