GBI Identifies Dead Man Involved In Manhunt That Left K-9 Wounded
An Atlanta man who died of a gunshot wound after a Douglasville manhunt was identified Wednesday by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
DOUGLASVILLE, GA — The man who died by gunshot during a manhunt in Douglasville that left a police dog wounded was identified publicly Wednesday by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Dequan Cortez Glenn, 24, of Atlanta died of a self-inflicted gunshot, according to preliminary autopsy findings reported by the GBI.
Glenn led police from several agencies on a chase near Interstate 20 early Sunday morning after he tried to evade a traffic checkpoint. The chase ended when Glenn was found wounded in woods near Douglas Boulevard. He later died at a Douglasville hospital.

During the chase, Jerry Lee, a dog with the Austell Police Department, was shot in his left front leg. Jerry Lee is now recovering from his injury and has been retired from police duty.
