Hydrangea Festival Returns To Douglasville For 12th Year
Many events will be held throughout the weekend for excited festival goers such as: the Home & Garden and Artisans Market.
DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA -- The Douglas County Museum of History and Art, in conjunction with the City of Douglasville and Douglas County will host the Penny McHenry Hydrangea Festival June 1 and 2, at Douglas County High School, located at 8705 Campbellton Street from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Penny McHenry Hydrangea Fest is held in honor of Penny McHenry, founder of the American Hydrangea Society. After receiving a hydrangea after the loss of one of her daughters, Penny fell in love with the plant and has risen to the world famous title of "The Hydrangea Lady." The festival was created under the umbrella of the Douglas County Museum of History and Art and is supported by the City of Douglasville and Douglas County.
Many events will be held throughout the weekend for excited festival goers such as: the Home & Garden and Artisans Market, an award winning Standard Flower Show, Garden Tours, an Interactive Children’s Area and much more!

Although Douglas County High School is the primary location for the festival, additional festivities will be held at alternative locations. The Miniature Garden Exhibits will be held at the Douglas County Museum of History and Art. Also, the Cultural Art Center, located at 8652 Campbellton Street, will feature hands-on activities and fun for all ages.
Tickets for the Garden Tours are $25 per person and are available for purchase at the Douglas County Museum of History and Art located at 12431 Veterans Memorial Highway and Douglas County High School located at 8705 Campbellton Street. The festival is free to attend & open to the public – costs may be associated with other festival components, speakers and vendors.
