DOUGLASVILLE, GA -- Georgia Department of Transportation, or GDOT, has given Douglas County notice of upcoming resurfacing projects on I-20 eastbound and westbound between SR 5/Bill Arp Road and the bridge over Sweetwater Creek, approximately nine miles, in Douglas County.

Contractors with GDOT are expected to begin these projects to improve the deteriorating condition of I-20 in this area during the weekend of May 11 - May 12, weather permitting.

Georgia Department of Transportation states daytime and overnight lane closures will be required to ensure safety for work crews and drivers as protection from large equipment, paving materials and frequent truck movements. Lane closures will be scheduled to avoid peak morning and evening commute hours, but drivers should expect traffic delays when closures are in place.
