ICYMI: A Hero's Welcome For Olympian Castlin in Douglasville
The O'Neal Park event greeted Kristi Castlin, who completed a U.S. sweep with a bronze in the women's 100-meter hurdles in Rio.
DOUGLASVILLE, GA — It was a hero's welcome Tuesday evening in Douglasville for local Olympic medalist Kristi Castlin.
Castlin took bronze in the women's 100-meter hurdles at the Summer Olympics in Rio in one of the games' most exciting finishes for the United States.
Castlin's third place completed a U.S. medal sweep in the event.

Brianna Rollins won the gold medal, with a time of 12.48. Nia Ali took silver at 12.59 and Castlin finished the race in 12.61 seconds.
Castlin, 28, is a Douglasville native who graduated from Chapel Hill High School. She attended college at Virginia Tech.

On Tuesday, everyone from the mayor to Castlin's sorority sisters to young runners hoping to be Olympians one day themselves turned out to welcome Castlin home.
