He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired computer technician. He loved sports and was an avid fisherman.

Freddy Michael “Mike” Butler, age 62 of Douglasville, passed away, Saturday, September 19, 2015. He was born June 29, 1953 in Atlanta, GA. He was a Veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam Era and was a retired Computer Technician. Mike loved sports and was an avid fisherman.
Survivors are his wife, Karin Butler; daughter, Jennifer Bates and her husband, Craig of Flower Mound, Texas; son: Matthew Lee Butler and his wife, Tammy, of Grand Prairie, Texas; mother, Ellie Butler Edgar, of Wedowee, AL; step-son: Jesse Jeffers and wife, Jennifer, of Monroe, Washington; grandchildren: Lane Hogg, Logan Hogg, Landon Bates, Reagan Butler, Philip Lee Butler, Landry Bates, and three step-grandchildren, cousins: Christy Cole and Jeff Lovins and numerous other cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Freddy Lee Butler and brother, Phillip Lee Butler; Aunt, Glenda Kay Chisolm.
Funeral Service will be held, Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Reverend Josh Buice officiating. Per his wishes, he will be cremated following the service.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday from 12 until the funeral hour of 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
