In Memory: Helen S. 'Ma' Daniell, 79, of the Fairplay Community
She was the owner of Fairplay Towing for 18 years and the owner of Pop's Country Store in Fairplay for over 30 years.

Helen S. (Ma) Daniell, age 79, of the Fairplay Community passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015.
She was born in Douglas County on May 5, 1936 to Raymond “Pop” Strickland and Evie (Nanny) Smallwood Strickland.

Helen worked as a school bus driver for the Douglas County School System for 10 years, along with her husband Jimmy, she was the former owner of Fairplay Towing for 18 years and the owner of Pop’s Country Store in Fairplay for over 30 years. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a beloved member of the Fairplay Community.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother, Reverend Darrell Strickland.

Helen is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jimmy Daniell; son, Barry Daniell and Sandee Webb; daughter, Darlene (Jeff) Collett; grandchildren, Dana (Matt) Siekkinen, Kari (Justin) White, Stephen (Roxann) Collett, Jenna Daniell, Matthew (Krista) Collett, Daniel (Bobbie-leigh) Collett; great-grandchildren, Hadley Collett, Samantha White, Charleigh Collett, and Baby Boy Collett; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Strickland; sister-in-law, Ann Camp; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Judy Chapman; many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Friendship Baptist Church with Pastor Eric Evans and Reverend Mike Mallory officiating. Stephen Collett, Matthew Collett, Daniel Collett, Matt Siekkinen, Justin White and Eric Parrish will be serving as Pallbearers.
She will lie in state at the church on Friday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
Interment will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
