In Memory: Mr. Jimmy 'Gerald' Landers, 75, of Douglasville

Mr. Landers was a devout Christian who also enjoyed sports—especially his Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Braves, and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Mr. Jimmy “Gerald” Landers, age 75, of Douglasville, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015. He was born in Douglasville, on July 24, 1940, the son of the late Herman F. Landers and the late Geraldine Deal Landers.

He worked for Ford Motor Co. as a Paint Inspector until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Cowan Mill Church. Mr. Landers was a devout Christian who also enjoyed sports—especially his Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Braves, and the Georgia Bulldogs. He also enjoyed fishing and vegetable gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Donna Byrne Landers of Douglasville; son, Matthew Landers of Douglasville; daughters and son-in-law: Tonya Landers of Winston and Leann and Gene Kendall of Woodstock; sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Ronald Williams of Douglasville; brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Pam Landers of Winston; one grandchild, Lorelai Kendall.

Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel in Douglasville with Pastor Josh Smith and Reverend Ken Hennesy officiating.

Interment will follow in Bright Star Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers are Bobby Parr, Randy Williams, Chris Williams, Joe Williams, Britt Landers, Bryan Elmore, Kevin Smith and Ken Black.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 P.M.
