A former athlete at DCHS, he worked as a truck driver for many years and was Baptist by faith.

Ralph “David” Thompson, 58, of Winston, GA passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015.
He was born October 13, 1956 in Douglasville, GA to the late Ray Thompson and Kathryn Duke Thompson.

He worked as a truck driver for many years and was Baptist by faith.
David was a 1974 graduate of Douglas County High School where he played football and baseball. He loved sports and attended West Georgia College in pursuit of someday becoming a coach.

Survivors are his wife of 35 years, Carolyn Collier Thompson; daughter, Bo & Cindy Adcock of Carrollton; son, Joshua Thompson of Winston; sisters, Linda and James Trawick, Douglasville, and Jo Anne Thompson, Winston; brother, Wayne and Ann Thompson, Baymonet, Arizona; grandchildren, Dylan and Tyler Adcock of Carrollton; nieces, Amy Griggs, Susan Reed, Angie Christian and Elizabeth Day.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew Jeff Thompson.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015, at 1:00 PM at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel, Douglasville. Interment will follow in Prays Mill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 26, 2015 from11:00 AM until the funeral hour.
