He was a minister-evangelist for over 20 years on WDCY, preached at churches all over GA, and was a member of First Baptist Douglasville.

Reverend Carl E. Murray, age 76 of Winston, passed away, Monday, September 14, 2015.
He was born January 22, 1939 in Jellico, TN to the late Ernest Marshall Murray and Myrtle Petree Murray. He was Veteran of the US Navy and then served in the Navy Reserve. He was a minister-evangelist for over 20 plus years on WDCY Radio, preached at churches all over Georgia and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Douglasville.

Survivors are his daughter, Carla Murray Simpson and her husband, Ronny; sons: Steven Murray and his wife, Karen, Andy Murray and his wife Melissa; grandsons: Daniel Simpson and his wife, Marcy, Nicholas Simpson and his wife Kim, Ronnie Simpson and his wife, Kim; great grandchildren: Kelsey, Madison, Kylee Simpson; sisters: Rachel McCrickard, Brenda Langley and her husband, Robert; brother: Wesley Teal, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Ergle Murray; sister, Linda Teal and brothers: Tommy Teal, Jr., Claude Teal and Sam Teal.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM, at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Brother Randy Daniel officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Serving as Pallbearers will be: Daniel Simpson, Nicholas Simpson, Ronnie Simpson, Brandon Newman, Steve Daniel, and John Towns.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 5-9 PM, at the funeral home.
