In Memory: Richard Marston Jones, Sr., 78, of Lithia Springs

Richard Marston Jones, Sr., age 78 of Lithia Springs, passed away, Thursday, September 24, 2015.

He was born July 4, 1937 in Marshall County, AL to the late Lamon Jones and Nellie Miller Jones. For many years Mr. Jones delivered theater reels to movie theaters for Theater Service Company. He retired from Theater Service Company and later worked at Six Flags Over Georgia and also for the Douglas County Board of Education as a bus monitor. He was a Baptist by faith.

Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Doris Ann Milam Jones; son: Richard M. Jones, Jr., and his wife Renee Vicki, of Temple, GA; daughter: Becky Wadsworth and her husband, Kenneth of Lithia Springs; sister: Faye Hamrick of Crossville, AL; grandchildren: Andrew Wadsworth, Wayde Jones, Andrea Wadsworth and Kyle Jones; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Francis and Cheryl McIntosh, John and Nancy McIntosh, Dan and Patty McIntosh, Mary and Morris Jordan, Janie Carter, Jerry and Shirlene Milam, Randy Milam, Kathy and Gary Smith, and Tim Milam.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law: Harold Hamrick.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Terry Marbut and Brother Wes Lowery officiating. Interment will follow in the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery in Boaz, Alabama, at 4:00 P.M. EDT.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 5:00-9:00 P.M.
