New Elections Chief Wants 'Free And Fair' Process
Commissioners have named Milton Kidd as the new head of Douglas County's Elections and Voter Registration Department.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA – A former Fulton County elections official has been appointed to run Douglas County's Elections and Voter Registration Department. On April 17, the Board of Commissioners voted to approve Milton Kidd as the county's new elections supervisor.
Since 2015, Kidd had served as the deputy elections supervisor for Douglas County. Previously, he served as a registration officer for Fulton County, personally helping to register thousands of voters, according to a Douglas County statement.
“I look forward to continuing to work for the citizens of Douglas County, governed by the ideas and guiding principles of honest, free and fair elections, “ Kidd said in the statement. “I believe in an open process of elections and informing voters of how the election process actually works here in Georgia as a whole, and in Douglas County specifically.

Kidd grew up in East St. Louis, Ill., and graduated from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He received a master’s degree in public administration and policy analysis, and is working on a doctorate in public policy.
