He delivered a message on the importance of diversity and teamwork in completing tasks and building a great school that serves our community and God
Coach Curry explained how βmagnanimitas,β greatness of spirit, means that each of us is uniquely created with potential no one else has and we are called to share our own magnanimitas in an unselfish way, giving all that we have and all the we are to anyone who needs us all the time.
The Gala & Auction was also attended by Mayor Rochelle Robinson, Commission Chairwoman Ramona Jackson-Jones, Judge Beau McClain and representatives from Sheriff Poundsβ office, Lieutenant Elmer Horn and Captain Taverreus Pounds. Local βcelebrityβ and partner at the law office of Hartley, Rowe & Fowler, Joe Fowler delivered an appeal for donations, detailing the reasons why he and his wife, Carol, became founding members of Harvester Christian Academy in 1987.

Joe Fowler said, βwhen Iβd sneak into the school, Iβd hear children being taught academic subjects of course, but also principals of life from a Christian perspectiveβGodliness, honor for parents, love for a neighbor, self-control, honesty, right and wrong,β and these are all values you still hear in Harvester Christian Academy classrooms every day. βIf you are concerned about our culture and what children are being taughtβ¦then we have to do whatever we can, with whatever resources we have to breathe life back into [Christian schools]β like Harvester.
Through ticket sales, a silent auction, donations and the support of eight corporate sponsors (PKS Paving, CKS Packaging, Douglas Dental Care, Douglasville Eye Clinic, Frazier & Deeter, Hawkinson & Muchnick, Crown Contracting and Progressive Painting), the gala raised over $34,000, the net proceeds of which will go toward campus improvements.
