In February, Arbor Place Mall and Cobb and Douglas Public Health partnered together to open a large drive-thru vaccination center outside the old Sears location. “Vaccinations at Arbor Place Mall are going well,” said Dr. Janet Memark, District Health Director, Cobb and Douglas Public Health. “We have administered more than 9,000 doses since we launched the site on Feb. 18. Once we have enough vaccine, we expect to administer between 800-1000 doses per day.”
Mayor Rochelle Robinson and Commission Chair Dr. Romona Jackson Jones had the opportunity to meet with representatives from Cobb and Douglas Public Health to discuss ongoing vaccination efforts and to see how the vaccination site was performing. While on-site, both Mayor Robinson and Madam Chair were able to get their own vaccinations since they both now meet eligibility requirements.

“Arbor Place Mall has been a great community partner in making this space available,” explained Mayor Robinson. “With eligibility expanding and more vaccine supply, having a mass site like this is vital. The staff on site is doing an outstanding job keeping everything moving and making sure our citizens are taken care of.”
The drive-thru site is operating Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM-Noon. Citizens can visit www.cobbanddouglaspublichealth.com to receive more information regarding vaccination efforts.
Vaccines are also being made available at some area pharmacies. Local businesses are stepping up to help and make sure citizens have maximum access to the vaccines. Premier Drugstore in Downtown Douglasville has partnered with Tito’s Lounge to set up a “no appointment needed” vaccine clinic. The clinic typically operates Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM based on dosage availability. For more information regarding their efforts, please follow the Premier Drugstore Facebook page where they regularly provide updates.
