The Douglasville Police say rumors of gun threats at New Manchester High School Friday were unfounded.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA -- The Douglasville Police and Douglas County Sheriff's Office say rumors of gun threats at New Manchester High School Friday were unfounded.

"It has been rumored that there was a student who made threats against the school or that a student was arrested at the school with a gun," reads the Douglas County Sheriff's Facebook page. "All of this information is incorrect."

"We are seeing information passed along social media about an incident at New Manchester High School," reads the Douglasville Police Facebook page. "It has been rumored that there was a student who made threats against the school or that a student was arrested at the school with a gun. All of this information is incorrect."

"The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has investigated these complaints and found them to be unfounded," continues the post. "This is a situation in which texts and social media posts of rumors with no validity were being passed around."
