Severe Storms Threaten Region Tuesday and Wednesday
High winds and isolated tornadoes possible on the southern end of the Atlanta metro, according to the National Weather Service.
There will be a break in the clouds Monday night, but forecasters are expecting strong storms to move into the region Tuesday night.
Severe storms are possible from late Tuesday through Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Damaging winds and a few tornadoes are possible. Wind gusts are expected to reach 25 mph during the storm.

There is also the risk of flooding with the heavy rain associated with the storm, according to the weather service.

The forecast from the National Weather Service:
Tuesday: Rain likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 11am, then a chance of rain between 11am and 1pm, then rain likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1pm. Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 63. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Tuesday Night: Rain and possibly a thunderstorm before 11pm, then showers and thunderstorms after 11pm. Some of the storms could be severe. Low around 54. East wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Wednesday: Showers and thunderstorms before 8am, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly after 8am. Some of the storms could be severe. High near 60. Southeast wind around 15 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.
Wednesday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a chance of rain after 8pm. Cloudy, with a low around 38. West wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
Thursday: A 40 percent chance of rain before 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 49.
