Taste Of Douglasville Winners Announced

Find out who took the most contested prize this year, for Most Sold, and who won with their avocado ice cream.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA -- The Cultural Arts Council hit a record-breaking year at their annual Taste of Douglasville Fundraiser. Four awards were presented to food vendors that were judged by Chef Scott Lamphere from Gordon Food Services, Junior Top Chef Rose Genter, and Culinary Specialist with Longhorns Steakhouse Linda Edwards. Best Entrée went to Blu Rose Art Bistro for their delectable meatball; Best Dessert went to Southern Luncheons for their avocado ice cream; and Best Presentation went to Jefferson’s. The most contested prize this year, for Most Sold, went to Shane’s Rib Shack.

All categories of activities exceeded the Cultural Arts Council’s goals – number of restaurants, sponsors, performers, Arts & Craft booths, Better Living, Kid’s Korner booths and Festival Roamers. It was an active, happy, and well-fed crowd celebrating downtown Douglasville.

O’Neal Plaza stage was filled with African drumming to performances by Lithia Springs High School. The Kids Korner in the alley between Broad and Church Street was filled with delighted youngsters, and there were browsing and shopping opportunities aplenty with jewelry, candles, cellphones, and much more. Services to consider for the future, from realtors to political leaders, from resorts to travel agents, insurance to home repair – they were all represented.

It made for a civic highlight of the year. The evaluation results received have been consistently effusive and positive. Many have stated they can’t wait until next year.”
