Traffic Has Shifted Onto The New SR 92, Douglasville

Contractors for Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) have shifted traffic traveling on SR 92/Fairburn Road between Ellis Street and I-20 onto SR 92’s newly constructed and widened alignment in Douglasville. This new alignment:

1) shifts SR 92 just east of its existing intersection at Duralee Lane and

2) provides a new frontage road access to businesses on Fairburn Road between Hospital Drive and Duralee Lane.

Businesses on the south side of the existing SR 92/Fairburn Road between Hospital Drive and Duralee Lane are accessible via the new frontage road from Hospital Drive.

The traffic shift represents the final phase of an extensive project to widen and reconstruct SR 92/ Fairburn Road/Dallas Highway in Douglasville to improve mobility and safety through the corridor.

Roadside signage alerts drivers of the traffic impacts in advance. Temporary lighting has been installed inside the new underpass at Highway 78 and GDOT is working to install more lighting along the new highway. Thank you for your patience and we'll share more updates.
