DOUGLASVILLE, GA — The Douglas County Animal Shelter reports that they have more than 60 large dogs and don't have space for any more. The shelter is offering adoptions on large dogs for $35 each.
Anyone that lives in Douglas County can take their pet home with them with a voucher for spay or neuter surgery. Without adoptions, many of these dogs won’t make it past this week, according to the shelter.
The dog pictured is Mars. He has been at the shelter for five months. He is perfect and needs a home immediately, says shelter personnel. They say he is their longest resident and is in danger. His adoption was sponsored so he is free to a good home.
