Christmas Concert In Douglasville: Community Orchestra To Perform

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Don't travel to Atlanta or even further for Christmas music. You can find it right here at home.

The Christian Community Orchestra has a free concert Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Central Baptist Church, 5811 Central Church Road.

There are no tickets needed, and no offering taken. All ages are welcome, so bring the whole family.

The orchestra will be honoring the military and has special music for them. The full orchestra will be playing several selections that are familiar such as "Hark the Herald Angels Sing," "Sleigh Ride," "Silent Night" and more, plus a fun piece for the children called a "Crazy Mixed Up Christmas."

There will also be soloists on piano, violin, and a string quartet. The Elementary String Orchestra will be adding "Cantique de Noel (O Holy Night)" to the evening program.

The Christian Community Orchestra is completing its 28th year serving the community. They have only two concerts each year, May and December, and small groups play for special events during the year. If you play an instrument and are interested in joining the group, see below.

When the concert is finished, a fellowship with refreshments will be provided.

The next season will begin Jan. 27 after Martin Luther King Day at 7 p.m. at Central Baptist Church.
