Weekend Weather Timeline: Storm Chances, But Not For Long

Thunderstorms are possible through Friday, but we'll see that bad weather move on soon enough for a great weekend.

There is a chance of thunderstorms Thursday through Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.

A few strong thunderstorms are possible Friday, with gusty winds, frequent lightning and possibly some small hail.

By Saturday, the sun will be shining as temperatures climb to the high 70s and possibly reach 80 degrees by Sunday.

Central U.S. states will continue to struggle with intense storms next week, according to The Weather Channel. But we'll likely stay dry, with only a slight chance of showers next week.

Here's the latest Georgia forecast from the National Weather Service.

Friday: A chance of showers before 9am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 9am and 3pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm.

Cloudy, with a high near 75. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 77. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 80.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80.
