9-Week-Old Infant Dies, Father Accused Of Murder: Police

A Gwinnett County man is facing multiple charges in connection to the death of his child.

DULUTH, GA — Duluth police arrested a man this weekend in connection with the death of his 9-week-old infant. According to police, Khaliq Woods, 23, is charged with murder after he brought the unresponsive infant to a local hospital and told police he was "grabbing and throwing the infant in the air."

Police responded to Northside Hospital - Duluth at 7:30 a.m. Saturday after the hospital notified them of the baby's death. During the investigation, police learned Woods brought the infant to the hospital Friday night after noticing he was unresponsive.

Due to significant bruising on the infant's death, as well as its death, police arrested Woods and also charged him with aggravated assault, cruelty to a child in the first degree and battery-family violence.

Woods was taken to the Gwinnett County Jail, where he is being held with no bond.
