Gwinnett Mall Restaurant Fails Health Inspection

Raw beef stored over vegetables and mold on the ice machine were just some of the problems.

DULUTH, GA -- Super Pho, a Vietnamese restaurant in Duluth, received a failing grade on its most recent health inspection.

The restaurant, at Gwinnett Place Mall, scored a 65-U on the inspection, which took place Tuesday.

It had earned a perfect 100-A score during its last inspection, in May.

The inspection report includes a long list of problems found at the restaurant.

They include having no paper towels at multiple sinks, employees washing their hands in a mop sink, raw beef being stored above ready-to-eat vegetables, raw bacon being stored above cooked meat and raw shrimp being stored above cooked sauce.

Slicers and peelers were found with dried food debris on them and the ice machine had a black, mold-like substance in it.

Raw beef was found thawing in sitting water, employees were wearing jewelry -- which is considered a safety hazard -- and clean equipment, and cups, were being stored in a screened-in outdoors area.

The restaurant also added a dish washer after opening that caused it to use more water than is allotted to the restaurant, the report says.

Super Pho will be inspected again next week and is expected to have fixed its problems by then. If it doesn't, the restaurant could be closed until inspectors' concerns are addressed.
