Gwinnett Police Investigate Duluth Shooting Death

Police were called to the hotel Thursday night to find a man shot dead. They're looking for suspects.

DULUTH, GA — Gwinnett County police have identified the victim of a Thursday homicide still under investigation. Ivan Pastor-Vital, 31, of Doraville, was found dead at the InTown Suites in Duluth after police were called about a man shot.

Around 9:15 p.m. Thursday, police were called to the InTown Suites on Steve Reynolds Boulevard on a "person shot" call and found Pastor-Vital dead on the third floor.

Witnesses heard the gunshots, police say, and tried to help the victim.

Four people were seen running from the building before police arrived, a release says. A Hispanic man and a Hispanic woman were carrying armfuls of personal belongings and were accompanied by two children, police say. They were last seen walking down Club Drive towards Pleasant Hill Road.

Detectives identified the man and woman, but are unsure of their involvement in the shooting. No warrants have been issued.

One of the kids appeared to be nude in the surveillance video, police say.

Detectives have the information of the person to whom the room was registered, and are asking suspects to come forward.
