  1. Rainbow Village is launching a month-long campaign to raise awareness about homelessness starting on July 5. The Duluth-based non-profit has created a hashtag to use on social media and is encouraging any type of donation. This effort is to celebrate 30 years of helping our community. 2. Gwinnett artist, Adrian Green, creates murals to celebrate local heroes and 'heroes to be.' The local artist has been a firefighter, U.S. Marine, and fire safety planner and loves to create colorful murals to celebrate those who are doing heroic things in our society. He has painted murals in many of our local schools to encourage students to be the best that they can be. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  3. Some Gwinnett senators have been picked by Lt Gov. Geoff Duncan to serve on Senate study committees to look into issues such as sickle cell anemia, outdoor learning, and violence against health care workers. The Gwinnett Senators to be working on this project are Michelle Au, Gloria Butler, Kim Jackson, Sheikh Rahman, and Sally Harrell. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  4. Registration for students new to Gwinnett or changing schools has opened. If your child is moving schools within the district, the paperwork must be filled out. The required documents include; proof of residence, an official document proving your student's birthday, a valid certificate of immunization, and a withdrawal record from the previous school. There are more documents to be included, so make sure you check out the full list on the GCPS website. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  5. Gwinnett Alliance for Gifted Education recognized nearly 60 GCPS students for scholastic achievement.
